perhaps it might have been too late for me to post as i have been busy for the past 2 wks. i know i may get banned by talking abt the WC saga all over again but pls at least read finish my whole post if u wanna ban me ty.
so it all started with soloz n his rebellion. i was busy with work n didnt rly pay much attention to dotasg recently. until i came home 1 day n found this fastest ever growing 37 pages thread related to winterchill or short, WC.
there were plenty of dirty accusations going around regarding match-fixing, VIP treatment of world-class/top teams n dreamchazer's attitude, etc. but rather my post is abt the embezzling and misappropriation of registration fees that has been directed n targetted at u papa by the "rebellion", which i strongly felt till today as a founder of dotasg n head of dotasg events, u did not explain to us in a satisfactory manner. i believe all founder n head organisers shld be responsible in 1 way or another since u yourself said that u wanted to provide all singaporeans the best conducive n competitive environment for all gamers out there eager to play dota competitively since day 1 of creating this forum urself.
i was wondering y among all that fiasco, nobody actually did any specific n detailed calculation lol. so with a little bit of curiosity, i did some calculation on my own n arrived at these figures below
CALCULATIONS:
(1) assuming had the whole compy went on with 32 locked-in teams and 8 preliminary teams all made to pay,
we would have 32 + 8 = 40
(2) each team pays S$55 reg fee so 40 teams X S$55 = S$2,200 (Total Revenue Collected for Winterchill)
(3) 1st:SG$600
2nd:SG$300
3rd:SG$100
4th: Free entry to next DotaSG Tournament.
5th - 8th: 50% Discount for next DotaSG Tournament
SG$100 for most improved team (MIT)
as stated by u papa, above r the prizes for WC.
$2200 – (600 + 300 + 100 + 100) = $1100
(4) another assumption that u hired marshalls. since WC = 2 consecutive sundays' event n the compy usually lasts for an avg of 6hrs on 1 day, we get 12 hours for 2 days. n also assuming u pay each marshall $6 per hr, we get $12 X $6 = $72 (which is the salary a marshall will get for working on 2 full days)
(5) $72 X 6 marshalls hired on avg = $432
(6) Remaining $1100 - $432 = $668
(7)* Treat cyberdome ppl/owners' lim kopi or rent or watever. let's assume $200 for each day so 2 days would be $400. n im rly very curious as to how much cyberdome is supporting/sponsoring dotasg since the top right hand side of ur webby indicates that cyberdome is 1 of ur regular supporters

(9) Where the S$268 went? care to share? or perhaps u gonna keep quiet n ban n delete my post just like the rest?
R u implying that the electricity consumed n venue rental charges for playing 2 consecutive sundays at cyberdome add up to S$700 or more?
I believe (9) is the answer that soloz n all of us wanna know.
